Time for a Bit of an Update...

Hello again! It's been a long time. To say that I've been a bad blogger and that it's been a busy last few months would be an understatement. For now, I'm back in the blogging world. :)

Things in our household have been a little busy. Our daughter turned 8 at the end of July. It's hard to believe since it feels like we just brought her home from the hospital and right before our very eyes she has grown up into a such a beautiful little girl inside and out. We are so very proud of her! Our little boy will be 4 in December. He is wonderful and such a little helper and definitely keeps us on our toes. Time definitely knows how to fly when you're having fun. I feel like I blinked and they turned 8 and 3.

August was a bit nuts for us. We had a wedding shower for one of our best friends and the planning for that was crazy but getting it together with Ang & Kathy was awesome! The shower was beautiful and Lindsey & Nick loved it! The margarita machine was a big hit. :)

On August 22nd my Gran passed away. She had been sick and it happened suddenly and she took a turn for the worst. She was 88. I miss her everyday. I know that she is in a much better place and she is with PaPa and they are now together and happier than ever. I hope that when it's my time to go, I can go with no fear and with peace that my loved ones know that they were loved beyond words and that I'm in Heaven. It's hard for me to see Gran & PaPa as being gone. They seemed to always be around and I guess I thought, unrealistictly that they would be. Knowing they are in a better place gives me peace.

Our daughter started 3rd grade on the 25th. She missed her first few days with my Gran's funeral and viewing. She started on Thursday and has really loved it so far. She got her first progress report and has straight A's. Her homework load is more than last year but we are getting thru it. She has spelling, vocabulary, reading, and math every night. She is so smart and it amazes me how quickly she learns. She knows her times tables up to 3 so far!

I got another vehicle a more economic one. I really love it and it's perfect for driving Rae to school in, and for running errands. I've been working and love it as well. I work from home and will be there a year in November. My hours have been a little crazy the last 2 weeks but it's fine. I can't complain working from home.

Our little man, is growing so fast. He talks very well for his age and LOVES Thomas the Train. He also loves Cars! He is so sweet and helpful and loves to keep us on our toes. He recently dumped salt and parmesan cheese on our kitchen floor and even though I've swept the floor a hundred times I still feel salt under my feet in certain places. :) He loves to give hugs and kisses and play with his sister. It melts my heart how much they love each other.

Our daughter is growing like a weed as well. She has gotten my love of reading. She loves to read Judy Blume, Roahld Dahl, Beverly Cleary, Goosebumps and many others. She enjoys going to the library and hanging out with friends or playing PS2. We are so very proud of both of our children! They are absolutely amazing!

I will add pictures later. I have lots on my camera that need to be put on our desktop. For now, our desktop is not working and only have a few pictures on my laptop. Hopefully our desktop will be fixed soon. I'm definitely missing my pictures and ITunes.

That is all for now, gotta get to work. Have a lovely day!

Look-A-Like Meter.....

I thought I would try this and see what they said. Everyone says that Raegan looks just like me and Avery looks just like Geoff. The Look-A-Like Meter didn't seem to agree.

What a great weekend!!!.....

On Saturday, the kids, G, Laura, Rick and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo. The weather was perfect, overcast but not too cold or too hot. The kids loved seeing the animals and Avery loved riding on Uncle Rick's shoulders. Aunt Laura let him hold his own ice cream cone. It was a really fun day and everyone had a blast.

Saturday night, since G & the kids were sleeping I went to my friend Ang's house and we hung out. We had a good time just hanging out and talking.

Sunday, me, Ang, J, and Kathy went to see Drillbit Taylor at the Studio Movie Grill. It was a great movie and we had a blast.

Check out the pics from the zoo.... Enjoy!

So Happy Together, Our Little Cheeseball & Our New Addition.....

A & R & Bailey sleeping at Aunt Ang & Uncle J's
Avery & Raegan fixing to watch a movie
Our Lil Cheeseball
Our new addition: Jackson

I know it's been awhile since I've posted. Things have been pretty busy out this way between work, Raegan's school & homework, and taking care of Avery.

I know I didn't post about this but our dog Harley got out of our fence before Christmas and we have had no luck in finding him. We miss him so much and wish he would come home. We honestly feel that someone picked him up and kept him as their own. Harley will always be in our thoughts and prayers and we pray that he is safe. In saying all of this we decided to rescue a dog from the shelter here where we live. It was the best decision we could have made. We rescued an almost 2 year old lab/shepard mix. He is wonderful with the kids, neutered, house and leash trained. We couldn't have asked for a better dog. His name is Jackson, Jack for short and we love him very much.

In other news... work is going wonderful. I just recently trained to do research so now I can research and verify and they switch it up so I'm not doing the same thing all the time. I absolutely love working from home and love the company I work for. They are really nice and I feel blessed to be working for them and to have found something that allows me to work from home.

Things are great out this way. Just staying busy. Rae is doing wonderful in school and has made the Top 5 for UIL. They are narrowing it down to 3, 2 and an alternate. We are so very proud of her for all that she has accomplished and how well she is doing! WAY TO GO RAE!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Avery is getting so big. Potty training is almost done and when we went to the zoo on Saturday there were no accidents. He told us when he needed to go potty. We are so very proud of him for trying! WAY TO GO AVERY !!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!! He loves to read and be read to, loves playing with his cars and trucks, fascinated with motorcycles, anything with wheels, LOVES the movie Cars and watching movies with his sister in her room. :) He talks very well for his age and we are so proud of him!

That is the news for now. I will try to be better at blogging but it's hard sometimes to find the time. Enjoy the pics and have a great day!

Time for an Update...

I guess you could say I've been a bad blogger. Things have been pretty busy around here which leaves little time for blogging. Here I am though to give an update.

Things are good here in the Bennett household. I'm working from home and enjoy it. I only work a few hours a day while A is sleeping. My hubby's schedule has been a little nuts but hopefully that will get better soon. Our kiddos are doing wonderful! Raegan got picked in the Top 8 for UIL and we should find out soon if she got picked for the Top 4 students to go to competition. She is doing wonderful with her reading and loves Beverly Cleary and Barbara Park. Avery is getting so big. He's growing into quite the little man. He loves music and loves to be read to. Click on The Bennett's Blessings to check out pics of my wonderful kiddos.

A friend of mine, Stacia that I used to work with at Baptist found me on MySpace about a week ago. It has been a long time and I'm so blessed to have her in my life. We had a lot of good times. I have thought about her often and looking forward to catching up. Love ya girly!

My brother and his wife are having a girl. Not sure if she will be a Caroline or Holly yet. I can't wait. It will be nice to have another little girl in the family to calm the boys, Evan and Avery.

I also heard from a friend today who I hadn't talked to in awhile. L your email made my day, I just wanted you to know that. Thanks. Love ya!

Please keep my mom in your prayers. She has a heart cath on the 6th of March.

That is all the news I have for now. I'll write later. Have a happy Wednesday!

The kids loved seeing their Aunt Heather and Uncle Dan. Avery had a little fall the other day when we went hiking. :) Enjoy the pics and have a great day!

How You Live(Turn up the Music) by Point of Grace....

I was listening to the christian radio station the other day and heard this song. I want to say the station is 90.9. They play some great contemporary christian music. Anyway.. I heard this song and felt it really had a good message and wanted to share. Here are the lyrics and the music video. Enjoy and have a great day!

How You Live (Turn up the Music)
by Point of Grace

Verse 1: Wake up to the sunlight With your windows open Don't hold in your anger or leave things unspoken Wear your red dress Use your good dishes Make a big mess and make lots of wishes Have what you want But want what you have And don't spend your life lookin' back

Chorus: Turn up the music Turn it up loud Take a few chances Let it all out You won't regret it Lookin' back from where you have been Cuz it's not who you knew And it's not what you did It's house you live

Verse 2: So go to the ballgames And go to the ballet And go see your folks more than just on the holidays Kiss all your children Dance with your wife Tell your husband you love him every night Don't run from the truth 'Cause you can't get away Just face it and you'll be okay

Chorus: Turn up the music Turn it up loud Take a few chances Let it all out You won't regret it Lookin' back from where you have been 'Cause it's not who you knew And it's not what you did It's how you live

Happy 2008! (this post is a bit long).....

Happy 2008! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I guess you could say that I went on a bit of a blogging break with the holidays and everything going on. I'm back and ready to blog. :)

To those of you that don't know, some really close friends of ours invited us to Oklahoma for a few days after Christmas. G & I were stoked. We asked my parents if they would watch the kids for us and of course they said yes! We worked out the details and had Santa come for our kiddos on Saturday and left on Sunday for Arkansas to spend Christmas there. We had a great drive down there. We had gone the night before to Laura & Rick's to play games so needless to say we were a little tired the next day but excited. Avery was a little restless on the trip but once we got to Mimi & Big Daddy's he was raring to go. Raegan did wonderful and did her Word Search and read in the car. My parents had gotten a train table for the boys to play on and they also had a very nice remote controlled train set set up under the piano for the boys to play with. My dad set up a tent in the room he was staying in and a tv so he could watch Cars (his favorite movie). We had a wonderful Christmas! The kids got lots of beautiful clothes. Raegan got a lot of books that she wanted. She loves Beverly Cleary and the Junie B. Jones series. Avery got a remote control car (which he's a little scared of when it comes towards him), and the new Tickle Me Elmo (which he adores), and many more things. We celebrated A's birthday while we were in Arkansas since he turned 3 on December 27th! G and I had to leave on Wednesday since he had to work the next morning. :( It was hard but the kids did great! Coming home to an empty house was not something I liked though. It was too quiet.

We went by Ang & J's to pick up Sadie and stay for awhile playing some games. We played Sing Star and Catch Phrase Music Edition and had a blast!

Thursday: Avery's Birthday! Happy Birthday little man! A is 3 today! It's amazing how fast they grow. He's more of a little boy and less a baby with each passing day. My rents made him a cake and he got to open some more presents today. In Texas, G went to work and I cleaned the house, did laundry, called the kiddos and packed for our trip the next day. G didn't get off until 8pm so we got him packed and headed over to Laura & Rick's to grocery shop for our trip. We stayed with them so we could get a good start the next day.

Friday: On our way to Oklahoma!!!!!!!!! We stayed at the Red Top Cabins. They are completely furnished. The cabin we got can fit up to 11 people and has a hot tub. We got there and it was amazing. The air was so clean and fresh and it was wonderful to be out with nature. We brought our stuff in and the boys started working on the fire while Laura & I got everything situated. We put on some tunes and had a great time just hanging out, talking, sitting by the wonderful fire, and relaxing. I called the kiddos that night to check on them and of course they were doing wonderful. Avery's potty training was going very well and no accidents. I was the most worried about him and so glad that I had nothing to worry about.

Saturday: Our first morning in the cabin. We got up made breakfast, picked up some and went driving around and then hiking. The view was amazing. It's such a beautiful thing to be out in nature. It was so peaceful and serene. We had a great time hiking and taking pictures. We made marshmallows by the fire and played Spinners. G & I had never played that before but had a blast.

Sunday: Going home and our last day at the cabin. Check out was at noon but we had a wonderful time. We stopped at IHOP on the way home for lunch and stayed with Rick & Laura that night as well. We played some more games after getting unpacked.

Monday: New Years Eve! G & I went home and I got the house straightened, repacked and we went back to Laura & Rick's. Laura & I ran some errands and so did the boys. We then made dinner, got dressed and went to Justin's to our first party. We had a blast. Laura was our DD. We then went to Sonja & Steve's and I was the DD and had a blast. We rang in the New Year with them. After the New Year was rung in we went back to Rick & Laura's, drank and called Ang. She was in Colorado skiing. They were snowed in. Her & Laura suprised me with an Angels & Airwaves ticket for my birthday! I can hardly wait for the concert!!!!!!! We're going to have so much fun!

Tuesday: Happy New Year!! We got up and Laura made an amazing breakfast! Laura & I laid around for a bit and then drove to Texarkana to go pick up the kiddos. It was so wonderful to see them! I missed our babies so much! Both of our kiddos seemed like they had grown some in that short time we were apart. We had a great trip back and we picked up G and went home. We had a wonderful time in Arkansas and Oklahoma and hopefull do it again soon.

Here are the pics from Christmas and Oklahoma. Check them out! Have a wonderful 2008!

Happy Birthday Baby!

I just wanted to wish my wonderful, amazing husband a very Happy Birthday! We love you so very much! Have a wonderful day!
